Salacgriva Port Authority

According to the Law of ports, Port of Salacgriva is administrated by the Salacgriva Port authority. Salacgriva Port authority is juridical person and its higher decision-making body is board of administration, executive body is managed by Salagriva Harbour Master. According to the decision of the Council of Salacgriva , Salacgriva Port authority is founded in 19th of October, year 1994

Salacgriva Port authority perform the following functions:

• administration of the territory of the Port of Salacgriva;
• maintenance of port fairway and aquatory;
• supervision of breakwaters and quays;
• environmental protection;
• control the adherence of port regulations;
• collection of port dues;
• port development in accordance with port development program;
• contract signing with commerce societies regarding their operations in the port;

Management of vessel traffic in the port and its accomodation roads and functions regarding navigation safety state control and supervision is carried out by the captain of the Port of Salacgriva. Port captain directions that concerns navigation safety is compulsory to all vessels, organizations, commerce societies as well as to other juridical and physical persons.
